MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser of the United Arab Emirates, at Al Barakah Palace on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
At the outset of the meeting, Sheikh Tahnoun conveyed the greetings of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his wishes for His Majesty’s continued health and well-being.
His Majesty asked the guest to convey his greetings to the UAE President, along with his wishes for continued growth, development and prosperity for him and the Emirati people.
The meeting discussed matters of interest to the two countries across various fields, serving their shared interests and aspirations.
The two sides also exchanged views on rapidly unfolding regional developments and ways to achieve calm and reduce tensions through balanced diplomatic approaches and closer coordination and consultation to safeguard the interests and security of countries.
The meeting was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; General Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office; Dr Hamad bin Said al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; and Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority.
Attending from the UAE side were Ali bin Hammad al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Mohamed Hassan al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment; and several officials.
Sheikh Tahnoun was received and seen off at the Royal Airport by HH Sayyid Theyazin, accompanied by General Sultan al Numani and Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum al Maktoum, UAE Ambassador to Oman.
